Sir Donald George Bradman, often referred to as The Don, was an Australian cricketer, widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of all time. Bradman's career Test batting average of 99.94 has been claimed to be statistically the greatest achievement in any major sport.
In 1930, on Sir Donald Bradman’s return home from his triumphant tour of England in which he set the world Test batting record of 334, Australian artist Thelma Dahle (1905-1995) had the honor of casting Sir Donald’s face when he sat for her in her Sydney studio. This miniature 3/4 bronze profile was created from the original full life cast.
